Synopsis
of K - 5th Grade Curriculum
Learning
Philosophy for the School:
- Each child experiences success in school
everyday.
- Parents are an integral part of the
educational process. They are respected and involved.
- All curriculum areas include learning
foundations/mechanics/basic skills, reading, writing, mathematics, science, social
studies, physical education and the ads are of equal importance.
- Curiosity and questioning is encouraged.
- Creativity is fostered and celebrated.
- Student's learning styles vary. Therefore,
instruction and Learning modes are designed and presented to meet individual learning
styles. Discipline is a part of the curriculum.
- All students we taught productive and
positive behavior. They are taught to take responsibility for their actions: Positive
behavior produces positive consequences and negative behavior brings about negative
consequences.
- The Catholic Religion is taught at each
grade level. All religions are respected.
Kindergarten through fifth grade
curriculum:
General knowledge and activities - visual
skills, language development, creative writing, thinking and classification skills,
literature exposure, handwriting skills, spiritual development, motor development, music
rhythm and pattern, work skills, computer skills field trips, art and art appreciation.
Content curriculum includes English, mathematics, science, geography and social studies. |
