St. John Neumann Middle School Excels

With news articles about middle school students loosing ground academically during those challenging years, we wanted to let you know that is not happening to our students.

We compared the 8th Grade performance of the Class of 2008 with the 5th Grade performance of the same class. In the three middle school years, that class improved by four, yes four full academic years. In April of their 5th Grade year, the overall class performance was at the 8th Grade, 9th Month level. That is, they performed as one would expect a properly educated student about to complete the 8th Grade. In April of their 8th Grade year, the same class performed overall at the 12th Grade, 9th Month level. Not only did our students not lose any ground, they improved in all subjects.

At St. John Neumann, the grade level performances were:

Subject

5th Grade Performance

8th Grade Performance
Science:   10th Grade, 2nd Month   13th Grade
Reading:   10th Grade, 8th Month   13th Grade
Language:   8th Grade, 3rd Month   13th Grade
Social Studies:   8th Grade, 8th Month   12th Grade, 8th Month
Mathematics:   7th Grade, 4th Month   11th Grade, 3rd Month
Spelling:   7th Grade, 6th Month   10th Grade, 9th Month

The investment you make in sending your children to St. John Neumann, and the investment our dedicated and caring staff makes in working with them, pays dividends no economic downturn can ever take away. The Faith they learn provides guidance for the Christian use of their knowledge throughout their lives.

We recognize the challenges of the middle school years. Together we will all continue to meet those challenges and St. John Neumann will continue to graduate classes performing at or above the 12th Grade level. We know that it what you want for your children too.

In case you didn't t guess, we love to brag about the accomplishment of our students almost as much as you do
